MW Big 10 win at home!
Middleweight Big10= 26 vs Huntley= 6
Week 10 and the playoffs begin. The Big Ten Middle team played Kenosha and came away with a 26-6 victory. Crawley did it by land and air accounting for 3 TD’s. Staub put one in too. Defense was fierce dominating the game. Coming up in the semi-finals is a rematch in Crystal Lake against the Raiders. Game highlights are:
• Staub started the scoring with a 50-yard TD run
• Next was Crawley to Suren for the 30-yard TD pass
• Showing he can run too, Crawley with the 2-yard QB keeper for the score
• Crawley to Baker for the nice 30-yard pass
• Crawley to Suren again for another 30-yard TD pass. AIR SIBO!!
• Sure saying Crawley a lot this week, way to go kid!

PW PAC lose on the road.
Middleweight Pac10= 13 vs Huntley=28
Middleweight Pac10 team lost in the first round of the playoffs this week.
Huntley started with the ball and was hitting the wall of the Bills defense until a long pass brought them to the 17-yard line. The Bills defense continued to limit the run attempts to a few yards. Offense for the Bills took over on downs and lost the ball on a fumble a few plays later. Huntley then drove up the middle to put 6 on the board. After a successful extra point attempt, the score was 7-0 Huntley.
The Bills offense had a rough start as the ball was fumbled again a few plays later. Huntley took over and tossed up the ball, which was intercepted by Reptak. With the offense getting the ball back we hit the Huntley defensive wall. The possession of the ball went back and forth between the teams, however Huntley was able to gain the edge to the outside and scored another TD.
13-0 Huntley. The Bills offense began to piece together successful runs to march down the field and exploit the middle of the defense but could not hold onto the ball. Huntley's offense continued to move the ball toward the end zone, however had a few set backs by our defense penetrating the back field and sacking the quarterback. However, a fresh set of downs from a face mask gave Huntley position to pound in the ball for 6 points with another for the extra point attempt. 20-0 Huntley to end the half.
Offense for the Bills started the second half with the ball and looked like a new team. Dumiak kept spinning the 18 wheels for 50 yards to the 1-yard line. The offense completed the attempt and scored a touchdown by McCasey. And to finish it off the 2-point attempt team successfully executed the failed snap play to gain the extra point. Practicing this play for the past several weeks certainly paid off this week. 20-7 Huntley. Huntley continued to pound the ball into the defense with little gain. Another bad throw led to another Reptak interception and gave the ball back to the Bills. Offense came out fired up and fought of every yard they could gain. After punting the ball, Huntley continued to burn time on the clock and gave up the ball on downs.
The Bills offense took over and working the ball into the fourth quarter meant this was do or die time. Some solid runs by Dumiak and McCasey brought the ball to mid-field. To finish the touchdown, a pass was called to Sohi and he turned on the speed to the goal line. 20-13 Huntley.
Our Bills had another chance and mounted an impressive drive. However, Sohi made an impressive catch but ran out of real estate on the sideline which the officials called out of bounds. This allowed Huntley to take the ball back and work the ball down field to score once more to make the score 28-13. Unfortunately the Bills offense didn't have enough time on the clock to fight all the way back.
The score on the scoreboard does not reflect the fight and effort that the Buffalo Grove Bills put into this game not only during the game time, but prepping for it on all levels. Getting a chance to be in the place-offs was an honor and working with this team was an honor! Friendships built for life! Bills-4-life!

Feathers win at home!
Featherweight= 17 vs Schaumburg: 6
What a great way to kick off the first round of the playoffs with a dominating victory over the Schaumburg feather team. This game was over in the first quarter with the offense showing their dominance from play one. The offensive line opened massive holes for our backs to take to the house and never looks back. The defense played stellar as well only letting up one score on a busted played when the game was already in hand. It was a total team effort and leading these boys to their 4th straight win and on a roll as they head on the road to take on the number 2 seen North shore. This team has pulled together to show the dominate force they always have been, finishing the fight each and every play.
We have one round of this championship fight behind us now we look to take the next step with a lopsided victory over North shore.
I saved this for last. I have been involved in Bills football for 6 years and coach Pond for 10 years. Ryan Driscoll accomplished a first for any Bills team that we have been part of by kicking a 22 yard field goal with time expiring in the 2nd quarter. Well done Ryan for making coach Pond's dream come true while giving the team a 3 score lead into half time.
Bantam | Coach Duff
Bantam win at home!
Bantam= 9 vs Kaneland=0
Bantam had a shaky start to the post-season, as the Kaneland Knights visited Emmerich for the last home game of the season.
Once again, terrifyingly relentless defense kept the Bills going, while the offense tried to find a way to score. Jake Blair, Bowie Richmond, Jax Baker, and Esteban Plata, each made critical tackles, preventing long gains. Phil Pelts led the defense in tackles, and forced a fumble, which was recovered by Artur Cara. Raizo Ruiz also forced a fumble, which was also collected by Cara. Caden Albrecht was a monster, breaking up Knights plays in the backfield.
In the 3rd quarter, the Bills made an adjustment, and started moving the ball down the field. Pelts and Albrecht made HUGE holes, and Duncan Suren scampered through for a 4th and inches conversion, then - with the same play - a touchdown, AND an extra point!
Late in the 4th, the defense capped off their amazing performance with a safety!
Next week, the Bills travel to Woodstock, to face the McHenry Jr Warriors in the semi-finals! Let’s hope to keep the mojo, found at the end of this game, going into next weekend!

Middleweight Big10= 6 vs Huntley= 0
Week 9 and it was the last game of the regular season. The Big Ten Middle team played tough and as a team to slug out a 6-0 win over Huntley. O Line controlled the line of scrimmage again as Jack Staub ran it tough up the middle. The defense got another shutout holding Huntley scoreless. Now its on to the playoffs and Kenosha Sunday at Emmerich. Game highlights are:
• Crawley hits Baker for the games only score

PW PAC win on the road!
Middleweight Pac10= 14 vs Lake Forest=6
Middleweight Pac10 team won this week making their final record 5 and 4 for the regular season. Off to the playoffs next week!
Lake Forest started with the ball and the PAC Attack Crew came out with big pressure and recovered the ball after a high shotgun snap. This gave the Buffalo Grove Bills offense the best starting field position of the year at the 20-yard line. A few plays later Dumiak zig-zagged untouched for a TD! 6-0 Bills. Lake Forest started with the ball again and was stuffed by the defense close to the line of scrimmage every time. After the turnover on downs the Bills offense wasted no time and scored on a broken play with Reptak running the ball 36-yards! With 4:49 still on the first quarter clock, a successful field goal by Beckstrom quickly changed the score to 14-0 Bills!
The Buffalo Grove Bills defense continued to hold strong the entire game even after moving many players around in order to get a few new people in positions for the first time. The offense did the same and continued to refine the new players through the rest of the game. Offense even tried out a few punts to see how we would respond to that when needed. The first attempt saw success, but the second punts long snap resulted in good field position for Lake Forest.
The mixed-up offense began to make head-way against Lake Forest with Mikaere and Reptak leading the charge as QB's. Even after a high shotgun snap, we were able to turn that into a large gain. Lake Forest was able to turn a large gain on a throw and a play later, put 6 on the board.
The over-arching story here is the Buffalo Grove Bills game plan was to secure a win in order to make the playoffs and to try different players at other positions in order to give us more weapons for the playoff run. We continue to watch with anticipation as the Playoffs have begun!

Feathers win on the road!
Featherweight= 6 vs Hamshire: 0
A long drive and a good rain storm didn't stop these boys from taking care of business. We made the drive out to play a win or go home game in Hampshire. The focus was in their eyes from the time they arrived understanding that we needed to win this game to get into the playoffs. What a game that it turned out to be it was muddy but we got on the board in the first quarter and never looked back, The beef up front opened up huge holes on a very muddy field. The defense was relentless not allowing the Hampshire offense to get anything going all day. The team really worked hard as one unit to keep the season rolling. We are very round of the team and the complete unit they have become. It's exciting to see them working so hard and getting the results on Payday. What a night cap with a team dinner in Schaumburg. I guess it was fitting as we focus on the championship rounds. This team understands that it takes to win the fight. The boys welcome Schaumburg to the fight this Sunday. We are ready to finish this round with a knock out.
Bantam | Coach Duff
Bantam lose on the road.
Bantam= 6 vs Huntley=13
The Bantam Bills made the long drive to Huntley, and met their match. The Huntley defense was too much for our o-line, and only Bowie Richmond was able to break through for a TD.
The defense, however, was spectacular, and kept us in the game the whole time. Caden Albrecht had a sack and a fantastic pancake tackle for loss. Phil Pelts tallied 12 tackles (as well as a catch from Jake Blair on the pitch pass!)
All in all, the coaches are very proud of the boys, for their fantastic 6-3 season! We’ve come a long way this year, and we all look forward to a great post-season!
Kaneland comes to Emmerich next week, for round one of the playoffs!

WEEK #8 GAME REPORTS
Junior Varsity | Coach McGrath
JV wins at home!
Junior Varsity= 16 vs Schaumburg= 0
Bill JV won 16-8, beating a then undefeated 7-0 Schaumburg team. It was a hard fought game, with both teams making several big plays. In the end, BG came out on top. Great effort by Isiah Flores on the day, with multiple long runs, including both TD’s on the day. Isiah also played incredible on D, chasing receivers down from behind. David Paulauskas was 2 for 2 on kicks. The defense played lights out, limiting the Schaumburg offense to one score, when they had been averaging over 27 points a game. The two book ends, Carson Olomon and David Paulauskas played lights out, coming up with multiple big stops. Donovan Robinson, Aaron Barker, and Themba Sitshela played great pass defense against the best passing attack we have seen. Lynch, McGrath, and Gleyzer with big stops, including a goal line stop. Aghakhan, Sofiyev, and Gueorguiev great effort on the d line. Offensive line did their job all day, Jones, Martin, and Vandyke, nice work in the trenches. Great efforts in practice by the entire team which helped us win that game!

MW Big 10 win at home!
Middleweight Big10= 28 vs Pairie Ridge= 8
Week 8 and it was Homecoming at Emmerich Field. The Big Ten Middle team came out fast and furious and knocked off a previously unbeaten Prairie Ridge team 28-8. O Line we keep telling you how important you are, and it showed on Sunday. The boys up front controlled the line of scrimmage all day as the running backs pounded the rock all day up the middle. Suren, Coffee, Harris, Nitti, Branas, Nelson and Crew what you do each week makes the difference in the team’s success. The job you do may not be glamorous, but it is so important. Not to be outdone Coach Rhemrev’s D continues to get it done each week. What a great team effort. Inch by inch boys, fight for each one. Next week is the last regular season game against a tough Huntley team but the Bills will be ready. Game highlights are:
• Best thing seen all day, Coach Brady Fawcett running out from the tunnel. We all should take that much joy in things.
• Staub and Benthusen getting it done running the ball up the middle, dragging defenders fighting for extra yards
• Jack Palzet stepping up where ever he is asked, giving it everything he’s got.
• Guzman making tackles shutting down the run game
• Crawley hits Baker for the 70-yard score
• B99 Nelson all over the field making tackles, forcing fumbles, recovering fumbles and recovering one fumble for the TD. We should fly him in for games each week
• Staub with the 45-yard TD run
• Luke Benthusen dragging defenders on his way to the 20-yard TD
• Crawley to Suren for the big 28-yard pass
• Branas hits 2 extra points
• Always remember boys who you play for

PW PAC lost at home.
Middleweight Pac10= 14 vs Oak Park=26
Middleweight Pac10 team lost its steam this week. With loosing to Oak Park, the record slipped to 4 and 4. Middleweight Pac10 will need to push hard in the final game for a strong showing for the final regular season game.
The Bills started with the ball and easily made it down to the 22-yard line after a long run by Langerman. After a few more plays Langerman twisted and turned into the end zone for 6. The kick for 2 didn't make it to the block, so the score remained 6-0 Bills. The Bills offense failed to convert the on-side kick so Oak Park took the ball with good field position. After running the ball for short yardage, Oak Park slowly made their way down the field and capped it off with a long pass for a TD with a 1-point conversion, score 7-6 Oak Park.
The Bills offense was back at it, however the Oak Park defense was very disciplined and remained home for coverage. Sohi caught a nice pass and turned it up the field to a large gain shortly followed by Dumiak powering through a few defenders and dragging them for a few more yards. The Bills drove it into the end-zone for 6 and successfully kicked the ball for 2 points, 14-7 Bills. Oak Park took over and defense gave them a fight, however a few plays later, Oak Park scored for 6 with a 1-point conversion, tied at 14-14.
Oak Park started the second half with a fumble and the Buffalo Grove Bills took over again on offense. After a few carries, the ball was thrown long to Palzet for a nice gain. Offense turned over the ball to Oak Park after failing to convert a first down. Defense pushed back Oak Park with a QB fumble. However, Oak Park kept slipping by for 8-12 yards a carry. After Oak Park fumbled the ball again, the Bills offense began to grind again. Oak Park seemed to stuff the offense again for no gain. Oak Park took over again and slipped by for 6 points shortly after. Unable to make an extra point, the score was 20-14 Oak Park.
From this point on, the Buffalo Grove Bills energy seemed to drop off and Oak Park ended up shutting down the run through stripping the ball away. Oak Park marched down the field and scored once more. The final score 26-14.

Feathers win at home!
Featherweight= 28 vsPrairie Ridge: 6
What a homecoming! Thank you for all the families and fans that came out to support this team to a great one sided victory. The game started with complete domination for the offense. Ravenscraft took the helm leading the team as the QB right from the first snap. Running the offense without missing a beat. The O-Line showed dominance right away making sure the running backs were not touched for several yards.
What a great game for the defense also they were not to be overshadowed forcing a turnover on Prairie Ridge's first play. What a great way to show who this team is. They made tackles all game only letting up one score on a broken play. Beside that play the DF only let up one first down the rest of the game. Many players made great plays this week Sammy making a really good form tackle preventing the runner to get a first down.
We were able to run our courtesy offense with Crew, Sigal, and Hansen getting carries to keep our offense running like a well oiled machine.
What a great game! The boys had a good day of work and got paid! We have 4 more games that are win or go home. It starts this Saturday with out road trip to Hampshine to take on a team that is fighting to get in the playoffs also. Let's go boys WE HAVE WORK TO DO!
Once Again I want to thank all of the parents and families that came out to our Homecoming it was incredible! My heart was filled with pride and joy. I enjoyed watching this Bills nation come together to celebrate another great season.
Bantam | Coach Duff
Bantam win at home!
Bantam= 21 vs Woodstock=0
The Bantam team marches on to a road victory!
The offense got off to a slow start, not being able to score until nearly halftime, but our defense was stifling once again, and kept us tied at 0 until the Bills’ Offense could find their footing.
Phil Pelts with Peltscake sacks and more than half a dozen tackles - mostly for loss, Jackson Boundy was in the Mundelein backfield all day. Estaban Plata sealed his side, when they tried to run outside. Jake Blair and Bowie Richmond filling holes like spackle! Duncan Suren with key tackles in the middle. Erik Cervantes with a great tackle for loss! All told, the defense didn’t give up a single first down all game!
The first half looked kind of rough for our offense. Munde’s DT kept disrupting our backfield, and the running backs just couldn’t win at the edge. After a mid-2nd-quarter pep talk, the offensive line finally started blocking, and the Bills started marching the ball down the field. Jake Blair had some really hard runs up the gut. Jax Baker had a great, hard run, and scored late in the second quarter, taking a 6-0 lead into the half.
After halftime, with a few adjustments to the o-line, everything started clicking, and Duncan Suren made an incredible 40-yard redemption run for a touchdown. Baker added another, for good measure. The character of these boys was tested today, and they came out on top!

Middleweight Big10= 0 vs Lake Zurich= 6
Week 7 and the Big Ten Middle lost a heartbreaker 6-0 at Lake Zurich. The defense keep the game close but the offense was unable to get on the board despite moving the ball on the Flames. Defense came up with big stops and big turnovers. This week is homecoming and another tough matchup against Prairie Ridge. The games are only tough from here on out.

Bills win on the road!
Middleweight Pac10= 32 vs Warren=20
Dos wins in a row for the Middleweight Pac10 team; improving the overall record to 4 and 3. The team is coming together and firing on all cylinders! The Pac Attack Crew (P.A.C.) continues to be a force to reckon with!
Warren certainly came with a game plan attack with the offense. Hitting us in the first two plays of the game to get their first TD and an extra point was almost stuffed in the backfield, but ultimately scored. 7-0 Warren. With an on-side kick attempt, Warren was successful at getting a defensive encroachment call but failed to convert to a first down by inches. The Bills offense took over and marched down the field in a hand full of plays for a Bills TD by Dumiak. The kick hit the uprights twice and bounced out, the stiff wind coming at the Bills in the first was definitely a factor in this game. 7-6 Warren. With an unsuccessful Bills on-side attempt, Warren took over on the Bills 40. They again, marched down the field with a long pass and scored, though this series saw the defense stuffing Warren on many plays in the backfield. 14 to 6 Warren.
The Bills offense took over with Langerman and Dumiak teaming up on good solid runs fighting for each yard as seen by a Dumiak run dragging a kid on one of his legs for 4-yards and on another run twisting and turning for a great second chance effort to get an extra 8-yards on an 18-yard run. The offensive line continued to give large holes for the trucks to get through for opportunities to progress the ball. This resulted in a TD with a sweet reach, by Dumiak, with the ball into the end-zone. This time Beckstrom had the wind at his back and converted the 2-point attempt. 14 to 14, all tied up. Warren took over and continued to win yardage on passes. The defense continued to shut down many run attempts, but the QB was a tricky one on the run and scored their 3rd TD. 20-14 Warren, after a missed pass for the extra point.
After the half Langerman sprinted down for a 34-yard gain at the start of the 3rd, setting up great field position. Sohi and Dumiak, either with lead blocks or side-stepping their way for additional yardage, Langerman was setup for a great run to the end-zone for a Bills score! With the kick just wide of the goal post, the score was tide at 20-20 again. The Bills called for an on-side kick and succeeded after getting an encroachment call on the defense. With a 33-yard run by Dumiak, allowed by a great kick-out block by Sohi, the Bills offense was setup on the 3-yard line to score. Belden's QB sneak gained 2-yards and then he finished it off after scooping up a dropped snap from the center and converted it to 6-points! With just missing the extra 2-points, the score is now 26 to 20 Bills. The Bills offense calls for another on-side kick and just missed by a yard.
Warren took over and continued to eat up clock by calling all plays from the side-line. A few plays later, Shultz reeled in a beautiful interception and picked-up 9-yards for the P.A.C. again. The Bills offensive went back to work and Langerman's long runs began to add up. Sohi added to the long runs by turning up the field to scream past many Warren players. A short time later, Palzet caught a long throw and turned on the moves to dive into the end-zone with the ball reached out while getting tackled. The kick was wide and the Bills 32 to 20. Warren took over but could not get another score into the end-zone due to fumbling the ball in the back field and the P.A.C. recovering it. After giving up the ball on downs, defense held for the rest of the game.
One of the untold stories here is how the all of the little things the defense did to shut down Warren's offense, even with a large score, added up to giving the Bills offense more time with the ball and a chance to score. From making them beat us by throwing by shutting down many of the run attempts, to an interception, to a fumble recovery through penetrating the back field, and stopping the ball carrier with inches to spare on the on-side kick attempt with just 5-yards needed. This tells you about how much better these young men have progressed with their work ethic and discipline for this game. The Pack Attack Crew owned the second half of the game and showed how a 4th quarter game should be played.

Featherweight= 16 vs Lake Villa= 23
The Bills Featherweight Gold team was victorious this past weekend with a dominating performance against Lake Zurich.
Our Bills defense stifled the Flames all day, backed by a score saving, strip tackle by Brady Vogler and fumble recovery by David Graham. Great job team tackling boys!
The offense line was opening up holes all game long, leading to long touchdown runs by Matthew Kaput and Brady Vogler. Dylan Fawcett put the score out of reach with a shifty punt return run for a touchdown.

Junior Varsity | Coach McGrath
JV wins at home!
Junior Varsity= 14 vs Lake Villa= 7
Bills Big Ten JV won a tough game beating a very good Lake Villa team, 14-7. Both teams slugged it out in a back and forth battle. The game was scoreless going into the 4th quarter, until Ben Fawcett found Jack McGrath twice. The first for a jump ball down the sideline that McGrath came down with, and the second, up the seam to McGrath, out running the defender for the First TD of the game. The second TD of the game was again scored by McGrath, this time on the ground. Big time plays made all day by Ethan Aghakhan, swallowing everything up on the d-line, a truly impressive performance, including 2 key 4th down stops, one of which was a goal line stop. Isiah Hall with some punishing lead blocks and Isiah Flores with some big time runs, breaking multiple tackles, and giving a great effort all day long. Tyler Gleyzer with some outstanding LB play, shutting the door multiple times, and some amazing blocks at TE. Aaron Barker and Themba Sitshela, big tackles and lock down corners. David Paulauskas and Carson Olomon, way to get pressure all day and sealing the edge. Farid Sofiyev and Richie Gueorguiev were unblockable up front. Brady Martin, Mac Jones, and Michael Vandyke, nice job against a tough d line. And, welcome back Kyle Lynch, your presence was a game changer and we have missed you. Get healthy Donovan. MVP’s, Jack McGrath and Ethan Aghakhan.

Bills win on the road!
Middleweight Pac10= 30 vs Lake Villa=0
Middleweight Pac10 came with a mission to WIN, balancing out the overall record to 3 and 3 in order to make a run for the playoff qualification! The Pac Attack Crew was back!
The Bills started with the ball and looked nervous on the first few carries but got aggressive and marched down the field with an explosive QB keeper by Belden to the Lake Villa 30-yard line. Followed by a 20-yard Langerman run. After a touch-down robbing holding penalty, the Bills were pushed back to the 25-yard line. Then the Truck got rollin' down an open 3 lane highway, cleared by the left line Bilotta and Palzet, for a Dumiak touchdown! Beckstrom punched in a 2-point extra point to make it 8-0.
Defense took over and in the first few plays, there were no less than 3 Bills in the backfield scrapin' for the ball! With little to no gain, Lake Villa succumb to the Pac Attack Crew (P.A.C)! The Bills offense took over on downs with great field position at the 37-yard line, which Langerman promptly took to the HOUSE on the first offensive play! With another 2-point extra point by Beckstrom, this looks like a long day for Lake Villa, 16-0.
The P.A.C. held firm on any attempt at drawing them off-side, which back-fired and cause an off-sides on themselves! Immediately following, the defensive line blew past the line and sacked the QB for a 10-yard loss, now 25-yards till a first down. This forced a long throw that couldn't connect. Fourth down, Lake Villa connected for a 20-yard throw up the middle, but could not convert to a first down. The Bills offense took over on the 35 and Belden zig-zagged to the 12. Sohi finished it off by cutting up the 5 hole for a TD! Belden's pass capped off the TD with a 1-point conversion to make it 23-0. Defense immediately intercepted the ball and the offense went to work again and a few plays later a touchdown by Langerman. 30-0 at the half. Throughout the game, the offense shared the ball with receptions by Beckstrom and Sohi, and with runs by all running backs.
As the game progressed, the Bills players were moved around to experiment and to give some kids a chance at a new position. No matter what, the P.A.C. was still hungry and getting through the Lake Villa line to tackle for a loss or to disrupt the QB throws. The Bills offense also got to see Hami Mikaere run the ball a few times for a sizable gain.
It is safe to say that the Bills offensive line (Alvarado, Bilotta, Gutowski, Handal, Palzet) came through in a big way by opening up the right holes for our running backs and to provide pass protection long enough to get the ball off. This is still a work in progress, but the line made some great strides this week in holding strong and moving people where they need to go! The defensive line (Mendoza, Peszek, Polen) kept pressure in the back field the entire game and deserves a round of applause also!
The P.A.C. is only going to grow stronger as the skills are sharpened at practice each day, so it will be exciting to see what they will do at the next game. Stay tuned!

Bills lose on the road.
Featherweight= 16 vs CLake Villa= 23
The feather took to the road to visit Lake Villa for a very really early game. The game was a tale of 2 halves. Matthew Kaput started the scoring with a long run for his first touchdown as a Bill. He continued to run hard all game long even with Lake Villa set out to shut him down. With a new set of plays the boys executed with authority. Friz and Crewski lead the way pulling round the end to open a huge hole for Dylan Fawcett to score the second touch down. Both scores we dotted with an exclamation point with Razzberry Ryan Driscol putting them right down the middle of the uprights. The Defense played well all game everyone contributing as we game everything that we could to keep this game in the win column. Unfortunate we came up short once again. The boys continue to fight and are ready to take the fight to to Lake Zurich on a short week where Brady Vogler will be wanting to have a games of games against his old team.
Thank you to all the players and parents for the kind words Sunday for National coaches day it made the day even better. Thank you from all the Feather Gold coaches!

Bills win on the road!
Bantam= 25 vs Lake Villa=6
Chalk up another victory for the Buffalo Grove Bills Bantam team! B-team got the start today, and won their half 13-6! Artur Cara at the helm, gives to Bowie Richmond on the counter, for 2 TDs after great strong runs by Jake Blair, Duncan Suren, and Jax Baker. O-line was making HUGE holes all game! Cara also completes the season’s first pass, with a pop to Patrick Hubbard for a PAT.
A-team took over for the 2nd half and absolutely dominated! Richmond for another TD as well as a 12-yard keeper for Jackson Boundy, good for 6! Freshly unstriped Phil Pelts came up just short on the fullback dive for the PAT.
Defense was amazing once again - especially in the 2nd half. Pelts flattened the QB for a huge loss, and Richmond made an interception! Caden Albrecht, Jake Blair, & Jax Baker also each had sacks! Baker with key tackles, in the backfield.
Thanks to Dion Martorano (Caden Albrecht’s uncle) for the amazing shot of the Peltscake sack!

Bills lose on the road.
Middleweight Pac10= 8 vs Crystal Lake=28
Middleweight Pac10 didn't get a wedgie this week, but put up a good fight against Crystal Lake until the 4th quarter. Though trailing in score, our offense showed they could move the ball and the defense held tight for most of the game.
The Bills started with the ball and could not get out of the back field therefore turning over the ball to Crystal Lake with great field position. Crystal Lake drove the ball down to the goal line little by little and eventually scored. The Bills offense looked upset by this and came out with a big throw that was reeled in by Sohi for a first down. Determined to keep going a QB sneak caught the defense by surprise and punched the ball forward. Offense again threw the ball to Dumiak and took another first down. After loosing our focus on a silly penalty Crystal Lake took over the ball and scored shortly after putting the score at 14-0.
The Bills offense started with an attack right up the gut of Crystal Lake for a Dumiak "don't stop trucken" run, which took down several defensive players as if raccoons in a roadway! Moving the ball into Crystal Lake territory with a 20-yard run wasn't enough, the offense wanted to hit them where it just hurt by sending the truck down the road again for 10-yards more. Crystal Lake didn't like this and literally took the ball right out of our hands to stop our progress. The Bills defense took over and stopped them in their tracks after a costly backfield fumble and missed pass. Offensive took over and Dumiak came back out to truck again but hit a wall just past the line of Crystal Lake. After an interception, Crystal Lake took the ball down the field, but failed to convert before the half.
Crystal Lake started with the ball but couldn't make much happen. For the first time the Bills offense started with good field position. After the wheels slippen' with the "Truck", a short pass to Sohi and a couple of great missed one-armed tackles saw Sohi hit the end zone! Special teams punched a 2-point conversation through the uprights to make the score 8-14. With the momentum shift and the Crystal Lake sidelines down, Coach Guccione called for an on-side kick, which after a long throw, proved successful therefore putting Crystal Lake on their heels once again. Offense continued with the ball and pushed forward with a first down which included a reception by Jaden Palzett which resulted in a healthy gain. However, our offense made some costly errors by only advancing a few yards further and Crystal Lake took over and then drove down the field to score.
The Bills offense began down the field again, but was out of steam and turned over on downs. Crystal Lake continued to go after some holes and made some progress but several linebackers had a few great open field tackles to slow them down. In the end, it was a good effort all around, but we need to build on this to get back in the winners circle. Keep on Truckin'!

Featherweight= 8 vs Crystal Lake= 13
What a great game this past weekend! Unfortunately the boys came up a little short this weekend. We went on the road to face an undefeated team in Chrystal Lake and give them more than enough to win the game. We started the scoring with a long run by Dylan Fawcett, with Ryan Driscol adding the two point kick to give us an 8 point lead. It then turned in toe a sloppy wet defensive battle with neither team relenting. We kept pounding the ball and taking up time on the clock the O-l;ine worked hard to get first down after first down. Fris, Eli, Aiden, Brezek, and Graham worked together to get our back yards and the ball moving. Great Job beef! Our DF was relentless keeping the Raiders to 2 scores and only one lapse in tackling lead to a very close loss in the last few seconds of the game. Keep working boys the wins are on the the way. Lets get it started this weekend when we make the trip to Lake VIlla looking to get paid!

Bills lose on the road.
Bantam= 0 vs Crystal Lake=6
It was a cool and rainy day Sunday, as the 3-1 Bantam Bills took a muddy field, full of standing water, to face the Crystal Lake Raiders on their home turf. The Raiders were as unwelcoming as their field, and gave up nothing for an entire regulation game. Once again, the Mighty Bills faced their nemesis: Overtime. Once again, the Bills came up short; allowing the first score of the game in the first OT.
The Bills played their hearts out, and the coaches are all proud of how well our boys played the talented and well-coached Raiders. The one advantage we feel we have over the Raiders is speed, but the field conditions negated that advantage, and the Raiders’ size won out.
Stand out performances of the game go to:
* Esteban Plata, with some key tackles as well as punts, that totaled more yards than the offenses of both teams combined.
* Raizo Ruiz, with more key tackles at Corner
* The entire defense, who gave up no points during regulation.
Special mentions to:
* Bowie Richmond and Jax Baker, with major play-saving tackles.
* Duncan Suren, with the majority of positive running plays of the game.
Next week, the Bantam Bills will be looking to take out their frustration on the unsuspecting Lake Villa Timberwolves, in Grayslake!

Middleweight Pac10= 0 vs Libertyville=19
Middleweight Pac10 fell victim to Kenosha. Between clock consumption and giving us the wedge, Middleweight Pac10 could not stop the Ramblers.
Beginning with Kenosha eating up the entire first quarter on offense, without a score, the Bills Pac Attack Crew continued to provide pressure, but could not ultimately stop the Ramblers from scoring within the first few minutes of the second quarter. After a stop on the extra point, our offense started to get to work.
Early success with some large holes allowed our offensive team to march down the field. However, coming up short is extremely frustrating. When the Ramblers took over again, they heavily relied on #9 for first downs. Luckily our defense was able to hold them. Offense took over and began fight back but, the Ramblers held their ground and later scored a touchdown before the half.
The Bills started the half with the ball and the Ramblers stormed into the backfield to stop us quickly on a few plays, however we made progress slowly down the field. Unfortunately we lost the ball in a fumble thus giving the Ramblers the ball back. They continued to march down the field to score once more in the fourth quarter.
The Bills had a tough game converting yardage into points, however, given the weather they played tough.
Our boys had a tough week, down but not out. We will rise again.
We look forward to next week's game with undefeated Crystal Lake.

Bills win at home!
Bantam= 33 vs Grant Jr Bulldogs=0
For the would-be Homecoming week, the Grant Jr Bulldogs visited Emmerich East, to meet the Bantam Bills.
The Bills defense was as amazing and relentless as ever, and the Jr Bulldogs were prevented from making a single first down. Grant had no answer for Phil Pelts, who had pancake after pancake in the Bulldog backfield.
The offense made a statement, by giving the ball to Duncan Suren, who scampered into the end zone on the first offensive play of the game!
In the 3rd quarter, the Bills' Courtesy Backfield made their debut, with Artur Cara taking over at QB, and Aidan Noe at 2, with Jax Baker (since Suren made the first play of the game) and Esteban Plata at 3 & 4, respectively.
Each of the 1st team running backs (Bowie Rickmond, Jake Blair, Duncan Suren, and Jax Baker), AND one of the courtesy running backs (Esteban Plata), got touchdowns, in the 33-0 rout of the Grant Jr Bulldogs.
The boys will celebrate today and tomorrow, then it's time to get serious on Tuesday, as we prepare for the undefeated Crystal Lake Raiders team, on their field, next Sunday! Last year's Bantam families will remember the Crystal Lake game as the "Mud Bowl" of 2018!
Here's hoping the weather holds, and the Bills hand the Raiders their first loss of the season.

Week 3 and the Big Ten Middle team had a grind it out win over Libertyville 22-0. Defense pitched another shut out limiting the Wildcats to 1 1st down. The Bills started the game with a 65-yard scoring drive that used up the 1st Qtr. Again the boys up front dominated the offensive and defensive lines of scrimmage. Next up is Grant on Sunday at home. Game highlights are:
• Staub running between the tackles like a bulldozer.
• Finn Kenny with the big 30-yard Punt Return to setup the second TD
• Staub with the rushing TD
• Crawley to Baker for the score. Got to like this combo.
• Griff Suren with a Sports Center highlight diving catch
• Crawley with the QB keeper for the score
• Luke Nelson with the big sack. He almost took the handoff!
• Crawley 4 for 5 for 70 yards and a TD. Is it Air Sibo?
• Branas 2 for 3 on extra points. These kicks are huge.
Middleweight | Coach Guccione
Bills win at home!
Middleweight Pac10= 6 vs Libertyville=0
Middleweight Pac10 certainly had a defensive victory, by keeping Libertyville scoreless, to win this close game on our home field!
Offense started with the ball and had trouble advancing forward until a QB sneak resulted in a 30 yard gain. After a few miss queues Defense took the field and held strong by constantly pressuring the QB of Libertyville. With an interception shortly after by Hami Mikaere (his second of the season), the defense gave the offense something to work with. Offense took over and had trouble converting positive yardage as Libertyvilles defense pushed into the backfield.
The defensive line turned into the Pac Attack Crew hungry for a sack. The pressure caused the Libertyville center to constantly overshoot the shotgun snap. This constant negative yardage for Libertyville added up to good field position for our offense. Libertyville's QB began getting rid of the ball quicker as a result of being under pressure, leading to the defense focusing in on the ball carrier quickly and taking him out for multiple losses. After a blocked punt by Elliott Dumiak, the offense started with fantastic field position inside the 10. Unfortunately, an interception stopped the Bills in their tracks once again.
Defense came through with pressure topped off by a great open field tackle of the scrambling QB by Washington! The next play led to a pinball style tackle of the QB due to a bad snap that pushed Libertyville back to their 7 yard line. Taking over on downs, the offensive line put in a few good pushes to seal a touchdown with a QB sneak for the Bills!
Through the game a few sacks were achieved with Dumiak leading the charge through Libertyville's offense line. Becker and O'Hara played well at Defensive ends, with a near INT by Becker nearly thwarting a flat pass done the line of scrimmage.
The Pac Attack Crew may have ended up with more yardage than positive yardage from Libertyville's offense. This defense is only at the beginning of what they can accomplish, so stay tuned to future attacks of the Buffalo Grove Bills!

Another tough Sunday for the Feather boys. The boys were out match but kept the fight coming all game. Working hard to make tackles and blocks. Roth worked rally hard to get is first start of the year and getting in early to make a tackle. Charlie Hansen blitzed on DF play to attempt to break up the play in the back field early. We did sputter on O but everyone kept working to gain yards and get first downs. Dylan Nelson took some really big hits all game but got up time and time again to run the offense. It was a tough week but we are back to the practice to get back to work. We have a hungry Grant team coming in to Emmerich this week for a piece the this team and they are ready to defeat the challengers.

Bantam= 20 vs Waukegan=0
Another stellar defensive effort by the Bills giving up minimal yards the entire game. The strong play was anchored by a near impenetrable defensive line – rarely giving an inch on the line of scrimage. From there, the linebackers and corners attacked ferociously for numerous tackles for loss.. Each play there were droves of black and yellow jerseys around the ball. To close it out, there was solid tackling from all players. A couple highlight one-one-one tackles by Jax Baker and Artur Cara. On the other side of the ball the offense finally got on track; scoring on the first three possessions. Jackson Boundy led the offense down the field and all three running backs (Jax Baker, Jake Blair and Bowie Richmond) were able to punch it in. The offensive line had a great week of practice and it really showed as they paved the way all game.

Week 2 and the Big Ten Middle team didn’t let up with an impressive 36-0 win over Barrington. Offense scored the first 2 times they touched the ball and the defense had another shutout without allowing a 1st down. Next up is Libertyville. Game highlights are:

• Crawley to Baker for the 32-yard TD pass
• Finn with the big pick 6 for the TD
• Crawley to Crew for 20 yards
• LB punches it in for the TD from 9 yards out
• Guzman gets the interception then on the next play, behind a crushing block from
Palzet, goes 42 yards for the score.
• O Line and D Line controlled the line of scrimmage all game. Boys up front win games.
• Branis 3 for 5 on extra points. Maybe we got this one figured out.

Bills lose at home!
Middleweight Pac10= 12 vs Barrington=13
Our middle weight Pac10 squad played hard in another close game, this time versus the Barrington Broncos on our home field.
The crew started off great with a 65 yard touch down run by Cameron McCasey, who found the hole and was off to the races. The Broncos were able to block the extra point attempt making the score 6-0 Bills.
The Broncos took possession and met our defense, which played strong all day. The initial Barrington drive was thwarted and ended with an interception which was reeled in Mr. Reptak.
This gave the offense the ball back which had a hard time handling the ball on this moist Sunday. After a short drive, the Bills gave the ball back to the Broncos resulting from a fumble in the backfield during a quarterback to running back transaction. The game shifted slightly back and forth as the 2 defenses battled to keep their opponents from scoring. The Bronco scored again on a pass and followed up with a successful extra point attempt. Our Offense worked it's way back and put another 6 on the board with a 26 yard run from Drew Langerman. Unfortunately, due to a moist ball and another failed transaction from center to quarterback stymied our chance for the extra point without having a chance to execute the play.
Again our defense took the field, but there was just not enough time left. Barrington successfully juiced the clock and snuck away with a victory.
Our offense had issues holding on to the ball and was only able gain a total of 148 yards. Despite the loss, our defense really shined holding Barrington's high-powered offense to only 2 scores (13 points). Dumiak and Peszek were beasts on the D-Line, while Becker and O'Hara settled in at defensive ends and pushed the action inside to our hungry linebackers: Leven, Washington, Reptak and Schultz (made tackles all day). Our secondary: Mikaere and Mendoza did a good job attacking the run and shutting down the sweeps. Aside from a couple passes that snuck through, the defense was solid!
Our team looks forward to another challenge this week as we face Libertyville's passing game at home. We have prepared well and are ready for the challenge.

It was a tough weekend for the boys. We welcomed a very good Barrington team to Emmerich park The boys got on the board early with a long run to take a 8-0. It was a great showing by the visiting team but the boys kept working hard and never gave up. It was a tough day but the team learned from this game and are ready to take on the Libertyville Cats at home to get the our first win of the season. A week of hard work ahead that will be followed with getting their payday.
Bantam | Coach Duff
Bills win on the road.
Bantam= 6 vs Barrington=7
The Bantam Bills lost a hard fought battle 7-6 in 3 OT’s. The defense was stellar again this week allowing only a handful of first downs. This was the only touchdown given up this year so far and it was only after a turnover on downs deep in Bills territory. On offense the team got off to a hot start, with Bowie Richardson scoring on the first drive. Bowie stiff armed two opponents on his 20 yard run to the end zone. The game was a stalemate in the second half send the game into OT. Unfortunately 2 TD’s were called back in overtime due to penalties and Barrington needed only to take a knee in their final possession to seal the victory.

WEEK #1 GAME REPORTS
Junior Varsity | Coach McGrath
Bills lose on the road.
Junior Varsity= 12 vs Wauconda= 22
The Bills JV team lost a tough one 22-12 to Wauconda. Some injuries and turnovers made for a long day. Donovan Robinson and Jack McGrath each scored a TD. Donovan was a beast all day on both sides of the ball. Brady Martin with some nice pancake blocks on the O-line.
Ethan Aghakhan with some stellar play in the trenches on both sides of the line. Jack McGrath with a blocked PAT. Ben Fawcett with the long ball to Veer Patel. Tyler Gleyzer and Carson Oloman running sideline to sideline all game, tracking ball carriers. Mac Jones steady play up front and filled in on D. Need to get back on track in week two, get healthy, and back into the W column.
Middleweight | Coach Sibo
Bills win on the road!
Middleweight Big10= 25 vs Wauconda = 0
The Big Ten Middle team started off the season rolling with a 25-0 win over the Wauconda Bulldogs. In a balanced attack the defense scored as many times as the offense. The boys went full out from the opening whistle, never letting Wauconda into the game. The Middles look to keep it going this week against Barrington.
Game highlights are:
- Crawley opens the scoring with the QB sneak. Those Crawley’s have QB in their blood
- Guzman gets the defense on the board with a pick 6 in the 2nd quarter
- Not to be outdone Staub gets a pick 6 of his own
- Finn goes through the 5 hole for 78 yards and the touch down. He also had over 100 yards rushing. Are we sure that this is his first year of tackle football?
- Crawley to Baker for the completion. I think we may see a lot of this combo this year.
- O Line controlled the line of scrimmage all game. Can’t do it with you guys.
- Defense with its first shutout of year and dominated all game
Middleweight | Coach Guccione
Bills win on the road!
Middleweight Pac10= 24 vs Cary=19
The 2019 season kicked off in Cary with a nail bitter. Our boys started off on offense and looked strong as they marched the ball down field. After an unfortunate turnover, we continued to trade blows with Cary. They got on the board first with a slow but solid drive. The Bills answered back with a 25 yard touch down run, sprung by Drew Langerman. However, the play was called back due to a hold. The Bills did not delay and scored again on the next play with a 30 yard reverse by Sohi. Beckstrom followed up with the boot to put the Bills up on the score. Bills went to the half leading 8 to 7.
The second half offered some challenges as Cary was able to score twice more, putting them up 19-8. It was the 4th quarter when the offense moved the ball down field once more. Belden connected with Sohi on a short pop pass which Sohi broke loose on for a 53 yard TD. Trusty Beckstrom added another 2 points with another successful extra point. Now it was do or die. With Cary leading 16-19 and only about 5 minutes remaining in the game, Coach Guccione rolled the dice by opting for the onside play. He asked Offensive Coordinator, Matt Larsen to select a play that could earn 10 yards so we could maintain possession. The offense did just that! Larsen ordered up a half back screen pass, and Belden and Langerman delivered, earning 13 yards for the first down. The Bills were able to maintain possession and continued to grind the ball down field with carries by McCasey, Belden, Sohi, Langerman and Jaden Palzet. The Bills put the cherry on top with a 20 yard TD scamper by Langerman and another 2 point kick by Beckstrom. Beckstrom's foot was good for 6 on the day.
The game was not over, Cary still had almost 3 minutes to respond. Now it was up to the defense to win the game. O'Hara and Becker moved to play defensive ends. We saw pivotal tackles by O'Hara, Becker, Alexis, Dumaik and the rest of the crew. This halted Cary's ground game. With time running out, Cary had no choice but to pass the ball and would regret it dearly, as Mikaere pulled down a 4th quarter interception to seal the victory for our Bills.
Offense totaled 200 yards on the ground and 85 through the air. Defense gave up a bit more than we would like against the Cary offense, but after making some adjustments they stood their ground and came through in the end. Silent hero's were, the offensive line: doing their jobs and hanging tuff! Great win for the team, savor it briefly. Now it is time to focus on Barrington and look forward to a new opponent and a new set of challenges.
Featherweight | Coach Hooge
Bills lose on the road.
Featherweight= 19 vs Wauconda= 20
Week one was absolutely incredible the Feather team came out of the gate with a score in the first quarter against a very good Bulldog team. It was a tough run by Vogler that got the scoring started. He would continue his hard running throughout the game getting big first downs as the game went on. The DF was not to be outdone in the first half only letting up 6 points to a very good offense. Kaput did what he was told to shut the door at end this week. He even took on the pulling guard, shedding him to make a big third down stop. The second half was much of the same ground an pound of the first half that lead to a 38 toss and and a Fawcett touchdown. Our stingy DF kept working hard but we found ourselves needing a touchdown with 1:40 left in the game. Nelson ran the offense to a perfect 2 minutes offense like clock work as another Fawcett touchdown with just 15 ticks left on the clock. As we lined up for the 2 point kick we could hear the fans cheering this team to victory and it was awesome to hear the excitement. Unfortunately we came up just a little short.
We could not be more proud of this week one performance. The offense looked great with our line getting a great push. Our DF kept a great offense in check most of the game other than a couple big plays they played awesome.
We not have to put the work in this week for a very good Barrington team. We need to WIN THIS PLAY all game long. We in more plays we win the game. Time to look to defend our house and beat the Broncos.
Bantam | Coach Duff
Bills win on the road.
Bantam= 7 vs Wauconda=0
The Bantam Bills took the field with purpose last weekend. The defense was unstoppable, and the offense could only be defeated by themselves.
After a mistake-laden first half, with 3 touchdowns called back, and fumbles behind the line, which could have been MUCH worse, if it weren't for the incredibly stingy defense, the offense finally got it together.
Jax Baker and Jake Blair terrorized the Wauconda backfield, while Bowie Richmond cleaned up the few plays that made it through the brick wall of Jackson Boundy, Caden Albrecht, Phil Pelts, and Declan Haack. Esteban Plata and Billy Hicks made sure the sweeps were contained.
Jake Blair, Bowie Richmond, and Jax Baker each made it to the endzone, but only Jake, who made it twice, had it stick. The o-line of Raizo Ruiz, Caden Albrecht, Jonah Duff, Phil Pelts, and Aiden Noe, made huge holes, all game long. Great blocking by tight ends Matthew Owens, and Duncan Suren made sure sweeps worked, and the offense had their way with the unprepared, and undersized Wauconda defense.
A win is a win, but Bantam will need to work on focus and discipline, if they want to beat last year's 4A Super Bowl champion Barrington. The coaches believe only this team can beat THIS team.
